LOS ANGELES, June 16 (UPI) -- Jennifer Lopez recently posted several makeup-free selfies. The 44-year-old singer performed at the World Cup opening ceremony Thursday, and is gearing up to release her new album A.K.A. in the U.S. on June 17. The busy star took time off Sunday to lounge by the pool with her mother and friends.

Lopez posted several selfies of the occasion that show her barefaced and in a blue bikini. She captioned the photos "No makeup day! #realface #trueselfie #iwokeuplikethis," and "By the pool. One day off. #dayofrest #sundayfunday #pucci&gucci #much needed."
Lopez recently split from boyfriend Casper Smart after two-and-a-half years of dating. She has a series of concerts planned to promote her new album, and would like to go on tour in 2015.
"Things have changed so much for me," the singer tells Billboard. "I had to really do some soul searching and just realize a lot of things about love, and now I feel like I come from a place where I'm much stronger and, I think, better."
"I've always strayed from embracing all these different parts of myself as a person and artist, but this time I was like, 'I am all these different things,'" she says of her new album. "I can be silly, I can make fun of myself, but I can also be deathly serious and way too deep and introspective sometimes. I think people have so many more sides to themselves than just one. We're much more colorful than that."
