NASHVILLE, June 12 (UPI) -- Blake Shelton recently surprised Miranda Lambert with a special gift for their wedding anniversary.

The country stars celebrated three years of marriage on May 14. At the time, 30-year-old Lambert was on the road, but Us Weekly revealed on Thursday that 37-year-old Shelton had a special surprise for her when she got home.

"By the time a week like this is over with her album launch mixed with CMA Fest, she's just going to be a zombie," the singer told the magazine earlier in June. "I know she is. So yesterday I had my last day on set before coming here, and I drove down to Lake Texoma."

"We've got a boat down there and marina," he revealed. "I'm not a mechanic, but I managed to get this thing running, because I know when she gets back, she's gonna want to do something like that -- just go and float around and drink and get pulled on the tube or something. So I thought, 'Well, I'll get me some points in the end and get the old boat running. So I did.'"

Shelton went on to say he was "actually proud" of his idea. He acknowledged Lambert has "a long way to go still," and he "just [cries] for her" because he understands the physical and emotional demands of the road. "She means so much," he said of his wife.

Lambert released her fifth studio album, Platinum, on June 3. The record has been well-received, and earned her first number one debut on the Billboard Top 200.
