SAO PAULO, June 11 (UPI) -- Jennifer Lopez fans can relax and rest assured that Lopez will be performing at the 2014 Brazilian World Cup on Thursday.
The reassurance comes after FIFA announced on Tuesday that she canceled her appearance at the games due to "production issues." Her rep said the reports from FIFA are wrong.
"Jennifer has always wanted to participate in the World Cup opening ceremonies," her rep told People. "We have been trying to work out scheduling and logistics. Any statements to the contrary were premature. Jennifer would not want to disappoint her fans or fans of futbol. She will be there."
Lopez, Pitbull, and Brazilian singer Claudia Leitte will perform the official song of the World Cup, "We Are One (Ole Ola)," during the finale of the opening ceremony Thursday.
