ATLANTA, May 15 (UPI) -- Country crooner Kenny Rogers posted on Instagram on Wednesday that he has skin cancer and had to have some skin on his face removed.

He posted a photo of himself with a large bandage on his right cheek after the procedure.

"...but you should see the other guy! Had a bit of skin cancer removed today — I recommend everyone go get checked, especially since May is National Skin Cancer Detection & Prevention Month. Don't worry though, I'm gonna look great in Knoxville this weekend!" he wrote in the caption to the photo.

Perhaps Rogers is taking a cue from actor Hugh Jackman, who also announced his battle with the disease on Instagram recently.
