OTTAWA, April 23 (UPI) -- Avril Lavigne unveiled the official video for "Hello Kitty," the fourth single for her fifth studio album, Avril Lavigne on Tuesday.

The colorful video features the 29-year-old singer leading a crowd of four women as she walks around greeting fans, visiting a candy store, and eating sushi.

Lavigne has said that while the song is "flirtatious and somewhat sexual," it also is "genuinely about [her] love for Hello Kitty as well!"

Regardless of the feel of the track, which Billboard dubbed as "the weakest" in her latest record, the publication also claims that the video "squeezes Gwen Stefani's Japan fetishization into an even more unseemly package."

Previous singles from Lavigne's latest album include "Here's To Never Growing Up," "Rock N Roll" and "Let Me Go." You can check out her latest video below.
