NEW YORK, Feb. 21 (UPI) -- British film and stage director Sam Mendes is to be presented with the Jason Robards Award for Excellence in Theatre next month in New York.

The Roundabout Theatre Company said it will bestow the honor on the man who helmed both the Tony Award-winning musical "Cabaret" and the James Bond blockbuster "Skyfall" on March 10 during the company's 2014 spring gala at the Hammerstein Ballroom in Manhattan.
