NEW ORLEANS, Feb. 3 (UPI) -- Country music star Trace Adkins' father Aaron has died in Louisiana after a long illness, TMZ reported Monday.

Trace last week left the Florida rehab where he was undergoing treatment for alcoholism to be with his ailing dad.

The cause of the older man's death, as well as his age, were not reported.

The singer checked himself into a treatment facility last month after an altercation with a Trace Adkins impersonator aboard a Jamaica-bound cruise ship.
