Ciara and Future get engaged after dating for a year

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 28 (UPI) -- Ciara's publicist says the U.S. recording artist has accepted the marriage proposal of rapper-producer Future after about a year of dating.

"Future surprised Ciara with an engagement ring this weekend, also her birthday weekend, in New York City," the couple's representative, Chris Chambers, told People.com Monday. "The ring, which doubled as a special birthday gift, is a beautiful 15-carat emerald cut diamond designed by Avianne & Co."

"Today Has 2 Be Like One Of The Sweetest Days Of My Life! #TheBestBirthdayEver," Ciara tweeted Sunday. "If I'm Dreaming I Don't Want To Wake Up..Aaaaaahhh!!!:)"
