Tom Hardy to play Elton John in biopicture 'Rocketman'

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 24 (UPI) -- British actor Tom Hardy is to play rock 'n' roll icon Elton John in the biopicture "Rocketman," EW.com reported.

Director Michael Gracey is to start shooting the movie next fall.

John is rerecording some of his biggest hits to match the emotional moments in the film, EW.com said.

Hardy's film credits include "The Dark Knight Rises" and "Inception."
