NASHVILLE, Sept. 1 (UPI) -- Loretta Lynn says it was her own trusty guitar that left her with a broken rib just before her big Labor Day show at her Tennessee estate.
The country music legend carried on like a trooper Saturday night, performing through the pain and still engaging with the audience.
"This is your show," Lynn said from the stage. "Whatever you want to hear, holler it out."
Lynn told The (Nashville) Tennessean she had been taking a guitar down for a songwriting session when is slipped somehow and struck her rib cage.
Lynn was still on the marquee Sunday for the last of the three-show weekend concert series. She shared the headliner slot with Merle Haggard.
