Chris Brown suffers seizure, blames negativity

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 10 (UPI) -- Singer Chris Brown suffered a seizure while working at a Los Angeles recording studio, due to fatigue and "non-stop negativity," he said in a statement.

The singer had a seizure Friday morning at the Record Plant in Los Angeles, his representative said.

He was not hospitalized for the incident, but was treated by his doctor, The Hollywood Reporter said.

"Chris suffered a non-epileptic seizure. ... His doctor tended to him this afternoon and attributes the NES to intense fatigue and extreme emotional stress, both due to the continued onslaught of unfounded legal matters and the non-stop negativity," the statement said.

Some media reports said Brown refused treatment by paramedics or hospitalization at the time of the seizure, The Hollywood Reporter said.

Brown has faced media scrutiny in recent years, including in 2009 after he pleaded guilty to assaulting then-girlfriend Rihanna. Most recently he pleaded not guilty to fleeing the scene of a hit-and-run accident in May 21, E! reported.
