ATLANTA, July 2 (UPI) -- A toxicology screening showed Kriss Kross rapper Chris "Mac Daddy" Kelly died of a drug overdose, officials in Atlanta said this week.
The 34-year-old performer had a mixture of drugs in his system when he was pronounced dead May 1, Betty Honey of Georgia's Fulton County Medical Examiner's office told People.com Monday, without elaborating about what kinds of narcotics were discovered.

The police report filed on the night of Kelly's death quoted his mother as saying he used cocaine and heroin the night before he died and had a history of drug abuse, People.com said.
