Rihanna stalker pleads no contest to trespassing

LOS ANGELES, June 29 (UPI) -- A California man pleaded no contest to trespassing on the roof of Rihanna's home and was sentenced to jail time and mental health treatment, documents show.

Robert Melanson, 26, was caught on the singer's roof June 17 and was charged with criminal trespassing.

He was sentenced to time served in jail -- six days -- three years probation, $344 in fines and one year of mental health treatment, TMZ reported.

A judge ordered Melanson to stay 100 yards away from Rihanna, but the singer is trying to make the restraining order permanent, the New York Post reported Thursday.

Rihanna has been chastised by her record label, Roc Nation, for showing up hours late to her concerts and giving substandard performances on her Diamonds World Tour, a source told British magazine Look.

"Everyone can see Rihanna's not behaving herself. Fans have paid hundreds of pounds for tickets and she's regularly showing up hours late," the source, whose name was not reported, said. "Then she often gives lackluster performances where she even forgets her words at times. They issued a written warning which was emailed to Rihanna."
