Miley Cyrus calls relationship gossip 'insane'

LOS ANGELES, May 17 (UPI) -- U.S. actress and singer Miley Cyrus says she does her best to ignore all the gossip swirling around her engagement to actor Liam Hemsworth.

Some media outlets question the status of their relationship every time they are photographed in separate locations or Cyrus is seen without her engagement ring.

"It's insane," Miley told Hollyscoop at this week's Maxim Hot 100 party.

"I just take it day by day and take it really slow and just remember that my music is the most important thing," she said. "The spotlight should be on that."

Cyrus admitted she is thrilled to be No. 1 on Maxim's annual Hot 100 list this year.

"I really am honored," she said. "My fans are really what did it and they just kept voting and were so diligent and this proves how strong my fan base is. I think that I have the strongest fan base in the world."
