Rapper Gucci Mane indicted for aggravated assault

ATLANTA, April 10 (UPI) -- Radric Davis, the rapper known as Gucci Mane, has been indicted for aggravated assault for allegedly attacking a fan at an Atlanta nightclub, officials said.

Davis is accused of hitting James Lettley, a U.S. soldier, in the head with a champagne bottle March 16 after he approached the hip-hop artist and asked to take a photo with him, E! News said.

Lettley received 10 stitches for the injury he sustained in the incident.

E! said Davis left the scene but turned himself in to police the next day after a warrant had been issued for his arrest.

Davis has been arrested at least five times since 2005 on drug, assault and weapon charges, E! said.
