LOS ANGELES, Oct. 28 (UPI) -- British musician Morrissey has postponed the remaining stops on his U.S. tour to tend to his ill mother, concert promoter Goldenvoice said.

A spokeswoman for Goldenvoice said the singer plans to reschedule all 22 remaining shows and advises fans to hang on to their tickets, the Los Angeles Times reported Friday. Details on the rescheduled concerts were expected soon.

Morrissey announced the postponement of concerts in Pittsburgh; Columbus, Ohio; Flint, Mich.; and Chicago on Monday so he could return to England due to his mother's illness, the Times reported. The latest announcement covers shows that were scheduled to start next week in Minneapolis and run through Dec. 8 in Atlantic City, N.J.
