Rolling Stones book 4 anniversary shows

LONDON, Oct. 15 (UPI) -- The Rolling Stones announced Monday they plan to play four concerts, two in Britain and two in the United States, in honor of their 50th anniversary.

The British rock icons -- Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood -- are booked to perform their "50 & Counting" shows at London's O2 Arena Nov. 25 and 29 and at New Jersey's Newark Prudential Center Dec. 13 and 15.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, they are back!" a message on their website said. "The most eagerly anticipated concerts of 2012 are announced today as the greatest rock 'n' roll band, The Rolling Stones, confirm their long-awaited return to the stage with four spectacular arena shows."
