ATLANTA, July 14 (UPI) -- U.S. singer Usher agreed to give his ex-wife majority custody of their children, ending their battle while dealing with his step-son's accident, TMZ reported.

Usher had previously refused to budge on his 50/50 custody demand over his and Tameka Foster's two children, Usher Raymond V, 4, and Naviyd, 3, TMZ said, but the singer later changed his mind.

Usher met with his lawyers earlier this week to draft a proposal in which he would increase child-support payments and give Foster majority custody of the two children, TMZ said.

Eleven-year-old Kile Glover, Foster's son from a previous relationship, was declared brain dead Monday following an accident in which he was struck in the head by a passing personal watercraft while riding on an inner tube on Lake Lanier in Atlanta.

Glover's family issued a statement to CNN asking for prayers for the boy.

"We know God's in control, and are leaning on our faith in Him and His word at this most difficult time," the statement read. "We firmly believe in the power of prayer and ask that you all continue to pray and lift Kile up, as it's the best way we can all support him now."
