One Direction booked to play Kids' Choice Awards

SANTA MONICA, Calif., March 2 (UPI) -- British pop band One Direction is to perform live at the 25th annual Kids' Choice Awards show in Los Angeles, Nickelodeon said Friday.

This will be the group's American television performance debut. They are touring with the network's music group Big Time Rush.

"One Direction is performing on the Kids' Choice Awards for the first time and it's going to be scream-worthy," Paula Kaplan, an executive producer of the Kids' Choice Awards, said in a statement.

One Direction will perform their debut single "What Makes You Beautiful" during the March 31 ceremony. Will Smith is to serve as host of the event.
