LOS ANGELES, Jan. 28 (UPI) -- Seal said he and estranged wife Heidi Klum agreed their children needed to be let down gently when they told Hollywood they were splitting up.

In an interview on "Access Hollywood," Seal said the four kids, ages 7, 6, 5 and 2, were assured that while things would definitely be different, they would still be seeing plenty of both mom and dad.

"The main thing is to make sure that they feel that they're loved," the singer said. "Make sure they understand that their parents love each other (and) ... it has absolutely nothing to do with them."

Seal said the structure of child visitation could even result in more quality time.

People magazine said Seal has said recently he is hopeful he and Klum could reconcile and reunite the onetime happy home.
