Beyonce and Jay-Z bring baby Blue home

NEW YORK, Jan. 10 (UPI) -- Singer Beyonce and her newborn daughter Blue Ivy have been discharged from New York's Lenox Hill Hospital, the medical center said.

The New York Daily News said the celebrity mom and her also-famous husband, rapper Jay-Z, took their first child home early Tuesday. The baby was born Saturday.

The couple released a statement describing her birth as "emotional and extremely peaceful," People.com said.

"We are in heaven," the statement said. "It was the best experience of both of our lives. ... We are thankful to everyone for all your prayers, well wishes, love and support."
