LUANDA, Angola, Jan. 9 (UPI) -- A New Jersey concert promoter says he is stuck in Angola after rapper Nas was a no-show at a New Year's concert he arranged.

Patrick Allocco says he and his son are prohibited from leaving Luanda, the capital, until an investigation is completed.

Allocco told The (Newark, N.J.) Star-Ledger Nas was to perform at the holiday concert, but reneged on the contract, angering local promoter Henrique "Riquhino" Miguel, who had fronted $300,000 for the show. TMZ reported Miguel allegedly threatened Allocco at gunpoint.

Released from custody but unable to leave Angola because of a hold on his passport, Allocco is seeking the return of the money from Nas, while Miguel is demanding an additional $50,000 in expenses before the Alloccos can return home. Allocco's wife said she has spoken to the U.S. State Department and the office of U.S. Rodney Frelinghuysen, R-N.J.

The Miami Herald confirmed the rap artist attended a New Year's Eve party in Miami, hosted by basketball star LeBron James.
