LONDON, Oct. 31 (UPI) -- Adele's publicist says the British soul singer does not have throat cancer, contrary to Internet reports saying she does.

The 23-year-old recording artist recently canceled the rest of her 2011 tour schedule, explaining she plans to undergo surgery on her throat.

Although reports have been widely circulating on the Web that she is being treated for cancer, her representatives shot those down Monday.

"We would like to reiterate that Adele is to undergo surgery for a hemorrhaged vocal cord. All reports regarding any other condition are 100 percent false," her publicist told UsMagazine.com.
