LOS ANGELES, Oct. 29 (UPI) -- Justin Bieber's record label says his new Christmas album looks like a monster and could be a pivotal release by the Canadian teen idol.

Bieber's CD "Under the Mistletoe" will be released Tuesday and has already sold 164,000 pre-ordered copies, according to Billboard.

The 11 tracks, including a duet with Maria Carey, will showcase Bieber's maturing as an artist, said Steve Bartels, president and chief operating officer of Island Def Jam Music Group.

"The album really shows his growth as a young man, and his voice has just blossomed," said Bartels, who called it "not your typical holiday album."

The Hollywood Reporter said Saturday "Under the Mistletoe" includes five holiday classics plus six original songs co-written by The Bieb.

Bieber's manager, Scooter Braun, told Billboard the plan was originally to cut a single Christmas song, but the project grew into an EP and then a full-blown album that will be backed up with a high-profile holiday marketing campaign.
