Bieber takes Gomez on special date

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 25 (UPI) -- Pop star Justin Bieber took over Los Angeles's Staples Center to watch "Titanic" his girlfriend, actress and singer Selena Gomez.

After a day at the beach and seeing friend Demi Lovato in concert, Bieber, 17, and Gomez, 19, headed to the Staples Center to watch the 1997 film starring Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio alone in the arena, People magazine reported.

Bieber reportedly didn't have to pay for it either, the Staples Center's management let the couple use the place for free because Bieber sold out the arena three times.

"Romance isn't dead," Bieber Tweeted Friday. "Treat your lady right fellas."


Jesse James and Kat Von D breakup

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 25 (UPI) -- "L.A. Ink" star and tattoo artist Kat Von D and fiance Jesse James, a reality television personality, broke off the their engagement for a second time.

"I am not in a relationship," the tattoo artist posted on her Facebook page on Saturday. "And I apologize for all the 'back and forth' if it's caused any confusion."

The two, who were planning a summer wedding, first called off their engagement in July and a month later, Von D's show "L.A. Ink" was canceled, People.com reported.

"It was clear to me that we were just on two different paths in life," Von D said of her recent breakup with the "Jesse James is a Dead Man" and "Monster Garage" star. "My friend put it best when he said I could never be more deserving of total, noble love. And as a woman, I think it's important to know your value and never lose sight of that."

Being in a long-distance relationship may have also been an issue for Von D and James, who lives in Austin Texas. James is the ex-husband of Oscar-winning actress Sandra Bullock.

"I am not in any way moving to Texas," Von D posted on Facebook. "And I am not leaving my shop here in Los Angeles, High Voltage Tattoo."


Ana Ortiz gives birth to son

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 25 (UPI) -- Former United States hit "Ugly Betty" actress Ana Ortiz gave birth to a baby boy named Rafael Lebenzon.

The baby was born weighing 7 pounds, 7 ounces and is 20 inches long, Latina.com reported Saturday.

Ortiz, 40, is best known for her role as Hilda Suarez on ABC's "Ugly Betty," and will be featured on HBO's comedy "Hung" next month.

The actress and husband Noah Lebenzon reportedly were having difficultly agreeing on a name for the newborn, People.com reported.

"It has to be Spanish, but something non-speakers can pronounce without mauling," said Ortiz.

Ortiz and Lebenzon also have a 2-year-old daughter, Paloma Louise.


Prince Jackson appears at charity event

BERLIN, Sept. 25 (UPI) -- Michael Jackson's 14-year-old son, Prince, seemed to make a good impression when he appeared on stage at a weekend charity event in Berlin, attendees reported.

Prince told a crowd of about 800 people he wanted to help affect changes for the better in the world.

"With everything I do, I try to build on what my father did. I also try to help and change things -- just like he did," Prince told the Tribute to Bambi Friday night.

Audience members said Prince appeared poised and well-bred and apologized for leaving early because he had to get back to the United States for school.

"I think we can expect to hear more from him," one guest told People magazine.

Prince presented the charity with three handwritten copies of his father's hits "Bad," "Billie Jean" and "Smooth Criminal" to be auctioned.
