NEW YORK, Sept. 13 (UPI) -- Actor and entertainer Hugh Jackman is to return to the New York stage this fall in "Hugh Jackman, Back on Broadway," the aptly named show's producers said.

Best known for his work in the X-Men film franchise, Jackman has served as host of the Oscars telecast and won a Tony Award for his performance in "The Boy From Oz."

"Back on Broadway" is set to begin previews Oct. 25, with an opening night planned for Nov. 10. The limited engagement is to wrap up Jan. 1 at Manhattan's Broadhurst Theatre.

Jackman will be accompanied by an 18-piece orchestra as he performs "a personal selection of his favorite musical numbers that reflect on the stage and film star's remarkable life and career, from 'The Boy from Oz' to Hollywood," a synopsis said.

"I can't believe it's been seven years since I was singing and dancing on Broadway," Jackman said in a statement Tuesday. "There is nothing like performing on the Great White Way and I'm so excited to be coming 'home.'"

"Hugh Jackman, Back on Broadway" follows recent sold-out runs of Jackman's stage show in San Francisco and Toronto.
