Boss chills with Boston park musician

BOSTON, Sept. 4 (UPI) -- A Boston street musician says Bruce Springsteen left him a nice tip after they talked music and otherwise shot the breeze in Public Garden last week.

The Boss was in Beantown where he and J. Geils Band frontman Peter Wolf took in a gig by the Roy Sludge Trio, which feature a member of Wolf's current group, The Boston Globe said Sunday.

Springsteen apparently didn't draw too much attention during the show, and the same held true for the half-hour he and wife Patty Scialfa spent in the park with guitarist David Gonzalez.

The Argentine busker was strumming in the park as he often does when Springsteen walked up and complimented his Spanish style of playing. "We had a long conversation," Gonzalez told the Globe.

Springsteen declined to play any of his tunes in the park although he did strum a few chords of one of Gonzalez's own songs. The Globe said a video of the brief impromptu session was already available on YouTube.
