MIAMI, May 30 (UPI) -- "Beautiful Girls" singer Sean Kingston was critically injured when his personal watercraft crashed into the Palm Island Bridge near Miami, officials said.
Kingston, 21, and his female passenger were fished from the water by a witness Sunday and were hospitalized Monday at Jackson Memorial Hospital, TMZ.com reported.
His passenger was not identified and her condition was unknown.
A spokesman for the hip-hop singer said Kingston "and his family thank everyone for the well-wishes," but did not offer any further information.
The Palm Island Bridge connects the MacArthur Causeway to Palm and Hibiscus islands.
Dozens of known hip-hop artists were in Miami Beach during the weekend for Urban Beach Week.
Kingston's first single, "Beautiful Girls," topped the Billboard charts for three weeks in 2007. He recently toured with pop singer Justin Bieber.
