Bieber cleans up at Billboard awards show

LAS VEGAS, May 22 (UPI) -- Teenage Canadian mophead pop singer Justin Bieber was a triple winner at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas Sunday night.

Bieber, 17, was named Digital Artist of the Year, Top New Artist and Fan Favorite, People magazine reported.

Taylor Swift doubled up with awards for Country Artist of the Year and 200 Album Artist of the Year for "Speak Now."

"I'm just havin' the best time doin' this," she said.

Bieber, who followed up his 2009 album "My World" with "My World 2.0" in 2010, thanked his fans, mother, family, talent manager -- "basically everyone who helped me get out of my hometown and live my dream."

Rihanna was named Female Artist of the Year and Radio Artist of the Year. Taio Cruz's "Dynamite" won the Top Hot 100 Song honor. Lady Antebellum's "Need You Now" took Country Song of the Year honors and the Black Eyed Peas were the Top Duo/Group.

U2 earned the Top Touring Artist award and Neil Diamond was named the Icon Winner.

"I don't know what it means to be an icon, but I always wanted to be one," Diamond said.
