NEW YORK, May 17 (UPI) -- The Broadway musicals "Anything Goes" and "The Book of Mormon" were big winners when Outer Critics Circle Awards were announced in New York. "Sister Act" led the field with nine nominations, but was shut out when the winners were announced Monday.

The awards will be handed out at a ceremony at Sardi's restaurant in Manhattan May 26.
"Anything Goes" won the prizes for Outstanding Revival of a Musical, Outstanding Choreographer for Kathleen Marshall, Outstanding Actress in a Musical for Sutton Foster and Outstanding Featured Actor in a Musical for Adam Godley.
"The Book of Mormon" earned the honors for Outstanding New Broadway Musical, Outstanding New Score for Trey Parker, Robert Lopez and Matt Stone, Outstanding Director of a Musical for Casey Nicholaw and Trey Parker, and Outstanding Actor in a Musical for Josh Gad.
"War Horse" was declared Outstanding New Broadway Play. It also earned the accolades for Lighting Design and Outstanding Director of a Play for Marianne Elliott and Tom Morris.
"Other Desert Cities" was named Outstanding New Off-Broadway Play and "The Kid" won the award for Outstanding New Off-Broadway Musical.
The winner in the Outstanding Revival of a Play category was "The Normal Heart," for which Ellen Barkin also scored the Special Award for Outstanding Broadway Debut.
Mark Rylance of "Jerusalem" earned the title of Outstanding Actor in a Play, while Nina Arianda of "Born Yesterday" and Frances McDormand of "Good People" tied for the Outstanding Actress in a Play honor.
Brian Bedford from "The Importance of Being Earnest" and Elizabeth Rodriguez from "The Motherf**ker with the Hat" won the awards for Outstanding Featured Actor and Actress in a Play.
Laura Benanti of "Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown" earned the prize for Outstanding Featured Actress in a Musical and John Leguizamo garnered the honor for Outstanding Solo Performance for his one-man show "Ghetto Klown."
The Outer Critics Circle describes itself as an association with members affiliated with more than 90 newspapers, magazines, Web sites, radio and TV stations and theater publications in the United States and abroad.
