NAPERVILLE, Ill., Feb. 19 (UPI) -- "Weird Al" Yankovic made an impression at an Illinois elementary school where a number of the kids say they are fans.

The venerable parody artist made a stop at Brookdale Elementary School in Naperville last week and gave the up-and-comers a taste of the clever accordion-based humor that their parents enjoyed, the Chicago Tribune said Saturday.

"I think I'll buy a couple songs off iTunes by him," student Andrew Winchester told the newspaper.

In fact, the Tribune did an informal poll of Brookdale fifth graders and found eight of 10 had a favorable opinion of Yankovic.

Yankovic visited the school as part of the tour for his new book, "When I Grow Up," and also enlisted a troop of fifth graders for a lunch room performance of "Eat it," his memorable send-up of Michael Jackson's "Beat it."
