Brinkley to make B'way debut in 'Chicago'

NEW YORK, Feb. 7 (UPI) -- Supermodel Christie Brinkley is to make her Broadway musical debut playing murderess Roxie Hart in "Chicago," the show's producers confirmed Monday.

Brinkley is to begin her 11-week limited engagement April 4 at Manhattan's Ambassador Theatre.

Actresses who have previously played Roxie in the long-running revival are Brooke Shields, Sandy Duncan, Marilu Henner, Ashlee Simpson, Michelle Williams and Melanie Griffith.

Brinkley made her acting debut in 1983 opposite Chevy Chase in the hit feature film "National Lampoon's Vacation" and had a cameo in its 1997 sequel, "Vegas Vacation." She has also famously appeared in her ex-husband Billy Joel's classic music videos "Uptown Girl," "Keeping the Faith" and "All About Soul," as well as Mick Jones's music video "Just Wanna Hold."
