BERLIN, Dec. 3 (UPI) -- Two Germans are under investigation for allegedly gaining access illegally to the computers of celebrities including Lady Gaga and Justin Timberlake.

Prosecutors said a 17-year-old from Duisburg and a 23-year-old from the nearby town of Wessel downloaded hundreds of documents -- including music, credit-card details, e-mails and photographs -- The Daily Telegraph reported Friday.

The pair, whose identities were not reported, came to the attention of prosecutors after they boasted about their deeds on the Internet, the newspaper said.

They have not been charged in connection with the alleged incidents, which are said to have involved pop stars Ke$ha and Kelly Clarkson as well.

"Basically, we are talking about illegal, bootlegged publication, and spying using Trojans," state prosecutor Rolf Haferkamp told the newspaper Neue Ruhr/Neuer Rhein Zeitung. "The trick itself is nothing special. All it requires is a bit of know-how and perseverance to achieve criminal success."
