Gaga, Bieber win big at EMAs in Madrid

MADRID, Nov. 8 (UPI) -- Pop stars Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber were the top winners at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2010 ceremony at Caja Magica in Madrid.

U.S. singer Lady Gaga scooped up the prizes Sunday for Best Pop, Best Female and Best Song for "Bad Romance."

Canada's Bieber won the Best Male and Best Push Artist honors.

America's Linkin Park got the Best Live performance award, Thirty Seconds to Mars nabbed the Best Rock award, Eminem won the trophy for Best Hip-Hop, Ke$ha was crowned Best New Act, Katy Perry's "California Gurls" took the prize for Best Video and Paramore earned the award in the Best Alternative category.

The inaugural MTV EMA Global Icon Award was presented to U.S. rockers Bon Jovi, the Best European Act title was given to Italian star Marco Mengoni and German rockers Tokio Hotel triumphed in the Best World Stage category.
