Report: Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus divorcing

NASHVILLE, Oct. 27 (UPI) -- Celebrity couple Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus are divorcing after 17 years of marriage, court records filed in Tennessee show.

They are the parents of five children, including teen actress and pop star Miley Cyrus.

"As you can imagine, this is a very difficult time for our family," the Cyruses said in a statement issued to People.com Wednesday. "We are trying to work through some personal matters. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers."

Irreconcilable differences was cited as the cause for the split, People.com said.
