NEW YORK, Oct. 20 (UPI) -- U.S. pop star Beyonce Knowles is pregnant with her first child, sources told UsMagazine.com.

Knowles married rapper Jay-Z in 2008.

"B was shocked. She loves kids, but she wasn't ready to be a mother just yet," the insider told the magazine. "She really wanted to get her album done and tour the world again."

A second source said the singer is in her first trimester and considers "this is a gift from God and she's so happy."
