Cheryl Cole treated for unknown illness

LONDON, July 6 (UPI) -- British pop star and TV personality Cheryl Cole has canceled all work commitments this week due to an undisclosed illness, the BBC reported Tuesday.

Cole, 27, is a member of the music group Girls Aloud, as well as a judge on the competition series "The X Factor." She also recently toured as a solo act supporting the Black Eyed Peas.

"Following doctors' advice Cheryl Cole will be canceling all work commitments for the next week," Cole's spokesman told the BBC, declining to comment on a report by The Sun claiming Cole collapsed at a weekend photo shoot, then was diagnosed with exhaustion and gastroenteritis.
