LOS ANGELES, March 18 (UPI) -- Whitney Houston's lawyer is denying a tabloid report claiming the U.S. pop star has suffered a relapse in her sobriety and is heading back to rehab.

UsMagazine.com said the 46-year-old singer's lawyer has dismissed as "ridiculous" a National Enquirer report claiming she is using drugs again and suffered a "horrifying backstage collapse."

"Whitney is not headed to rehab. She is headed to Paris, where she will be continuing her world tour," attorney Marty Singer told UsMagazine.com. "It is ironic that at the same time that the Enquirer claims it is deserving of a Pulitzer for journalism (for breaking the John Edwards-Rielle Hunter affair story), the tabloid is continuously publishing stories comprised of brazen lies cobbled together from claims made from anonymous sources."

The Grammy Award-winning artist battled an addiction to drugs for years but cleaned up her act and returned last fall with a new hit album.
