SAN JOSE, Calif., Nov. 16 (UPI) -- The Face2Face concert Billy Joel and Elton John were scheduled to perform Tuesday in San Jose, Calif., has been postponed because Joel is ill, organizers said.

"Live Nation and Another Planet Entertainment, as well as HP Pavilion at San Jose, were informed today that Billy Joel is unable to tour due to medical reasons," said a statement posted on John's Web site Monday.

"Organizers of the concert are working to establish a new concert date," the message continued. "All patrons who have purchased tickets for the Face2Face concert scheduled for Nov. 17 at the HP Pavilion are being asked to hold on to their tickets until more information is available regarding the proposed rescheduled engagement. Both Billy Joel and Elton are disappointed to be postponing the Nov. 17 concert, and are looking forward to announcing a new concert date, once the availabilities have been worked out by all parties."

John recently was forced to cancel several solo gigs, as well as some joint concerts with Joel, because he was suffering from the flu and an E.coli infection.
