Frank Grillo hires assassins to try to kill him in 'King of Killers'

Aug. 3 (UPI) -- Lionsgate released the trailer for King of Killers on Thursday. The film opens Sept. 1 in theaters and video-on-demand.

Frank Grillo plays master assassin Drakos. Drakos holds a competition of the world's most elite killers with himself as the target.

Alain Moussi plays Marcus Garan, a former hitman whose wife was killed during the last contest. Garan travels to Japan to exact revenge on Drakos, but he has competition.

Stephen Dorff, Marie Avgeropoulos, Georges St-Pierre and Kevin Grevioux also star. Grevioux, who created the Underworld franchise and wrote the graphic novel that was the basis for I, Frankenstein, also adapted his own graphic novel King of Killers.

Martial artist Moussi also starred in the Kickboxer reboot and its sequel, Jiu Jitsu and Nobody. Grillo starred in the action movies Boss Level, Copshop and Beyond Skyline, and played a villain in the Captain America and Avengers films.
