Netflix said Wednesday that Hopkins, 84, will voice the character Jimmy, a sentient battle robot who once defended a slain king.

Hopkins joins previously announced stars Sofia Boutella, Charlie Hunnam, Ray Fisher, Djimon Hounsou, Doona Bae, Staz Nair, Alfonso Herrera and Jena Malone.

Snyder shared makeup test footage from Rebel Moon during the Netflix Geeked Week fan event Tuesday.

Netflix released first-look photos featuring Hounsou in April.

Rebel Moon is written by Snyder, Shay Hatten and Kurt Johnstad and directed by Snyder.

"This is me growing up as an Akira Kurosawa fan, a Star Wars fan," Snyder previously told The Hollywood Reporter. "It's my love of sci-fi and a giant adventure. My hope is that this also becomes a massive IP and a universe that can be built out."
