June 7 (UPI) -- John Cho's Max teases his daughter to convince her to take a summer road trip with him in trailer released Tuesday for "Don't Make Me Go" to air July 15 on Amazon Prime Video. Max, played by Cho (Star Trek, Cowboy Bebop), is a single father in the film who, unbeknownst to his daughter, Wally, played by Mia Isaac (Not Okay, You Could Have Done Better), has a terminal disease. Max wants to spend as much time with her as possible while he is well enough to do so.

In the new trailer, Max pleads with his daughter, who has a boyfriend in town, to go on a summer road trip with him even though she tells him, she "will be miserable the entire time," by saying he will teach her how to drive, and then teasing her by trying to rap about it.
"I will teach you how to drive," he says to his daughter in the Prime Video trailer. "If you have a good attitude for real, I'll let you get behind the wheel."
His daughter concedes to the road trip to stop him from rapping.
The father and daughter joke, dance, and bond on stops along the emotional road trip from California to New Orleans. Max is heading towards his 20th college reunion, where he secretly hopes to reunite with Wally's mother, who left them years ago.
Other cast members include Mitchell Hope (Descendants), Jermaine Clement (Flight of the Conchords), Stefania LaVie Owen (The Carrie Diaries) and Kaya Scodelario (The King's Daughter, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales).
Hannah Marks directs the film, based on a script by Vera Herbert, which will make its world premiere at the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival, starting on Wednesday through June 19 in New York City, before premiering globally on Prime Video in July.
