In the teaser, 911 operator Joe Bayler (Jake Gyllenhaal) is heard speaking to a woman who says she's been abducted. Text transcript from the conversation scrolls across the screen to form an image of Joe's face.

The Guilty takes place over the course of a single morning in a 911 dispatch call center.

"Call operator Joe Baylor (Gyllenhaal) tries to save a caller in grave danger -- but he soon discovers that nothing is as it seems, and facing the truth is the only way out," an official description reads.

The Guilty is a remake of the 2018 Danish film of the same name. The new movie is directed by Antoine Fuqua (Training Day, The Equalizer) and co-stars Ethan Hawke, Peter Sarsgaard and Riley Keough.

The Guilty will have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September. It will open in select theaters Sept. 24 before its Oct. 1 premiere on Netflix.

Gyllenhaal last starred in the Marvel film Spider-Man: Far From Home.
