June 25 (UPI) -- Michael Myers has survived and forges a path of destruction in the new trailer for Halloween Kills.

The iconic horror villain makes it out of the burning house he was trapped inside at the end of 2018's Halloween and murders a group of firefighters in the clip released on Thursday.

Jamie Lee Curtis (Laurie), Judy Greer (Karen) and Andi Matichak (Allyson) are rushed to a hospital where they learn that Michael is still alive.

Michael begins a killing spree as he heads towards his childhood home. Curtis, meanwhile, rallies her hometown into fighting Michael together.

"Evil dies tonight," Curtis says.

Halloween Kills, from director David Gordon Green, is coming to theaters on Oct. 15.

Green wrote the script alongside Scott Teems and Danny McBride, based on characters created by John Carpenter and Debra Hill. Carpenter, Curtis, McBride, Green and Ryan Freimann also serve as executive producers.

Co-stars include Will Patton, Thomas Mann and Anthony Michael Hall.
