June 22 (UPI) -- Warner Bros. released a new trailer for The Suicide Squad on Thursday. The second Suicide Squad film opens Aug. 6 in theaters and on HBO Max.

In irreverent Suicide Squad fashion, the trailer is labeled "Early Access Trailer Do Not Share." However, Warner Bros. posted it on its official YouTube channel.

Idris Elba joins the team as Bloodsport. He is in prison for shooting Superman with a Kryptonite bullet when Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) recruits him.

Waller assembled the first Suicide Squad in the 2016 movie. She has captured Bloodsport's daughter to force him to work with the team.

Returning Suicide Squad members include Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman) and Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney).

Waller has recruited new team members Peacemaker (John Cena), King Shark (voice of Sylvester Stallone), Sol Soria (Alice Braga), Savant (Michael Rooker) Blackguard (Pete Davidson), Weasel (Sean Gunn), T.D.K. (Nathan Fillion) and more.

Waller assembles her Suicide Squads from the array of comic book villains in the D.C. universe. In this film, written and directed by James Gunn, the Suicide Squad faces off against Starfish.
