The BAFTA Film Awards are the academy's highest film honors and celebrate the best British and international contributions to film.

BAFTA said it will announce the full timeline and eligibility details for the awards show in due course.

In 2020, BAFTA undertook a wide-ranging review and introduced changes for the 2021 Film Awards as part of an ongoing process for leveling the playing field for all entered films. The changes sought to address diversity standards.

The 2020 BAFTA Film Awards took place in April. Nomadland, a film written, directed and produced by Chloé Zhao and starring Frances McDormand, won four awards, including Best Film.
