'Snake Eyes' trailer introduces Henry Golding as ninja warrior

May 17 (UPI) -- Paramount Pictures is giving a glimpse of the new film Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins.

The studio shared a trailer for the movie Sunday featuring Henry Golding as the titular character, Snake Eyes.

The preview introduces Golding as Snake Eyes, a fighter who trains to become an elite ninja warrior. The film provides an origin story for the character, who is part of the G.I. Joe universe.

Andrew Koji co-stars as Tommy, aka Storm Shadow, with Úrsula Corberó as The Baroness and Samara Weaving as Scarlett.

Snake Eyes is written by Evan Spiliotopoulos, Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse and directed by Robert Schwentke. The film opens in theaters July 23.

Golding shared a moving poster for the movie Friday on Instagram.

Golding is known for starring in the films Crazy Rich Asians, A Simple Favor and Last Christmas.
