'Changing the Game': Transgender athletes fight for inclusion in new trailer

May 17 (UPI) -- A group of transgender high school athletes want to be accepted in a new trailer for upcoming Hulu sports documentary, Changing the Game.

The clip, released on Monday, follows the lives of wrestler Mack Beggs of Texas, skier and teen policymaker Sarah of New Hampshire and track star Andraya of Connecticut.

Each athlete faces bullying and harassment while competing on the field.

"Wrestling found me, I love it. I do train as hard as a man. I fight as hard as a man. I am a man and I'm the state champ of female high school wrestling," Beggs says in the trailer.

Changing the Game, from filmmaker Michael Barnett, is coming to Hulu on June 1.

Hulu will be presenting a director's cut of the feature with new footage and new original song "Chasing Dreams" by Gozé featuring Old Man Saxon and trans activist Shea Diamond.

Changing the Game premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2019. The film won the Audience Award for Best Documentary at the Outfest Film Festival and Frameline Film Festival.
