Aug. 8 (UPI) -- Josh Gad says the songs in Frozen 2 are "even better" than the ones in the original movie.

The 38-year-old actor discussed the upcoming sequel during Wednesday's episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!

Gad voices Olaf the snowman in Frozen and Frozen 2. The original film features songs from Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, including the smash hit "Let It Go," performed by Idina Menzel.

"Can I just say something outrageous? I'm not even sure if I'm allowed to say this, but can I just say I think the songs are even better in this movie," Gad said. "Now I've set the bar so high, but they're so good.

"It's Bobby Lopez and Kristen Lopez, who wrote the originals. They came back and did songs that are just... and that's the big concern, how do you top those songs? And the songs are even catchier, I'm sorry to say," he added. "It's just so good."

Gad said the cast is done filming the sequel, which opens in theaters Nov. 22.

"We're finished with that. It'll be really exciting," he said.

Frozen 2 is an animated Disney movie featuring Menzel as the voice of Elsa, Kristen Bell as Anna and Jonathan Groff as Kristoff. The film released a new trailer in June showing Elsa and Anna embark on a journey north.

Gad will next appear as the voice of Chuck in The Angry Birds Movie 2, which opens Wednesday. He had nothing but praise for co-stars Leslie Jones, Rachel Bloom and Awkwafina on Jimmy Kimmel Live!

"It's a tremendous cast," the star said.
