'Between Two Ferns: The Movie' to premiere on Netflix Sept. 20

May 25 (UPI) -- Between Two Ferns: The Movie, starring Zach Galifianakis, will be released on Netflix Sept. 20.

Scott Aukerman is directing the comedy he wrote with Galifianakis. There is no word yet regarding who will appear alongside Galifianakis on-screen.

"Zach Galifianakis dreamed of becoming a star. But when Will Ferrell discovered his public access TV show Between Two Ferns and uploaded it to Funny Or Die, Zach became a viral laughing stock. Now Zach and his crew are taking a road trip to complete a series of high-profile celebrity interviews and restore his reputation," said a press release from the streaming service.

The actor and comedian previously interviewed former President Barack Obama and 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton for Ferns.

Galifianakis, 49, is best known for his work in the Oscar-winning film Birdman, TV show Baskets and the Hangover film trilogy.
